Artemis at GenCon 2012

posted Aug 09, 2012 14:25:10 by ThomRobertson
I'm frantically getting ready for the biggest Artemis deployment EVER. Two elite bridges and four scout bridges, all networked, running 16 hours a day during GenCon in Indianapolis.

Please come play, or just say hi!

Hissatsu, I was part of beta testing the new version with different ship classes in one game. That feature did work. I assume it will be in general release about the time of GenCon.

I was checking the event catalog for gencon when I came across this game called artemis a spaceship bridge simulator. So I did a little research and my nerd alarm went to red alert. This looks awesome. So now the debate begins. Should I buy the game now. or wait and see what its like first at Gencon. arrrgghhh!! So I will ask this will the game be available for purchase at GenCon? Anyway I look forward to seeing the game in action at Gencon see you in indy.

Actually, I wouldnt advise playing demo to judge the product because... well, its very outdated - you dont get new awesome enemy ships, you dont get muiltiple player ship choices etc. Well, maybe as a primer on helms/weapons consoles only, in order to be ready to play it on GenCon, but then again, i guess there will be briefing and if you saw videos, and read wiki, you already understand enough to play it. Btw, take note that you dont buy 1 copy, you buy 1 bridge license, so if you got a bunch of friends who you'll play with, you can each pay your share, that way its very cheap.

Actually I cant wait any longer I love to support indie developers(i.e. Minecraft, Evochron) and I love the concept of this game so my money is yours sir. and once I get my crew together I would love to challenge any other crews to some matches or maybe some rp if anyone likes that as well.

The free version gives you a taste of the game. I don't think it's outdated; the free version intentionally only pits you against the weakest enemy ship class.

If you are lucky Thom will be offering a Show Special Discount at GenCon, so I recommend buying it there.

I was one of the volunteers working with Thom at GenCon this weekend (one of the guys wearing a fedora). I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who came and had a blast playing the game. I had just as much fun showing it off to everyone.

I was a newbie captain at Gen Con and had a blast. Just great fun. Can't wait to get home and try Artemis out with some friends!

I had a crazy good time playing your game at Gen Con. If you guys are there next year, I'm reserving soooo much time.
