Hotkey the all the consoles

I'm currently working on a build that will be using an iPAC controller ( and arcade buttons for integral functions on all the consoles. Unfortunately Helm is the only console that is fully realized (, though I do have concept for engineering and weapons as well). is there a third party program to make all the systems have hotkeys, or is there a feature I'm oblivious of?

According to your pictures and the controller with arcade buttons, we both have very similar ideas, except I was going to use a KeyWiz from Groovy Game Gear.

You should be able to use the Extender for (most of) this:
I haven't yet tried out the Extender, so, YMMV.

What size monitors are you planning on using with these?

probably 19", nothing to huge... if I can find 15" monitors I'll do that but I doubt that somehow.

I'm not sure what kind of environment you'll be playing in, but, have you considered using lighted buttons?
Planning on getting something like this for my controls:
I'm using this at conventions, sometimes with with a projector. It can be a little dark. Using these lighted buttons, I can put what the buttons do on them, that way they're easier to see in the dark.
One thing to consider too, is making it so you can upgrade the setup. That way is the game changes it won't be too hard to change your layout.
For my setup, we're using 17" monitors. I was hoping to get some 15" as well, but, I too had problems finding them.

Wow! I really like the look of those buttons. I wonder if they're compatible with the board I'm getting. those would be nice for helm and the all stop button. I think I'm still going to use round buttons for view switches.

@Thom- thanks! I really appreciate the work you put into this game! I hope my console will be a great homage to the possiblities!

@kwadroke- in terms of upgrading, I'm not really sure how to make is possible for multiple upgrades except by giving extra space to drill holes for more buttons. (btw it would be crazy awesome for cloak technology huh?). I think the top layer will be a plywood and above that will be plexi-glass with a LCARS design in between.

The buttons use the same switches as the round arcade buttons. In fact, those buttons are arcade buttons, just for different type of arcade games.

As far as upgrading, what I plan on doing as making it so I can remove the top panel and replace it fairly easily if it comes down to it. I'm going to do this using screws instead of gluing it down.

oh yes of course. I was planning on hinging the entire top and lock it in place. yeah I can do that and if need be I will make it so I can gut the plate easily.

@Thom - I don't know how I missed this bit of info, but that is fantastic news! Though, may I ask - does this mean all functions will be able to be hotkeyed, or just remapping existing hotkeys?
