Ohio?

posted Jun 04, 2012 16:19:39 by MarkBell
So a buddy of mine came back from Origins saying he'd tried it there, and I'm gathering there are a few crews at least around the Ohio area. My friends and I could probably get at least 2 crews together, 1 for sure, and we're based in Cleveland. Not particularly fishing for group games (although not ruling it out), my question is, mostly, how many other players/crew are based in Ohio?

Hey, Mark!

There's a regular crew in Beachwood that plays most Fridays. We've got one bridge running, hoping to get two concurrently soon.

I've got a permanent bridge in Cleveland Heights. I don't have a regular crew, it's more like "pickup games."

Sometimes we run two bridges at my place. One time we ran three bridges in one game, though it's hard to get enough crew together for that. I have room for a fourth bridge if ever 24 players come together at once.

Have you tried Artemis yet, Mark Bell, or are you looking to take it for a test drive?

Two weeks ago I taught some local voice actors to play Artemis at my place. I'm asking them to provide voices for my mission scripts. Here is a photo of them after numerous glorious triumphs.

@Paul - Do you play after work on Fridays? Also, I didn't realize you worked with Grayden :P

@Mike - Nice! I have a group of ~10 folks who've now played a few times now (6 several times), and it's been the super fantastic fun that everyone here knows it is. Nothing regular so far, mostly just "Hey, let's Artemis!" pick-up games. I'm hoping to get more folks roped into playing (I'll need to get a second license if I install it on anyone else's computer). I suppose I should turn off TreChipman's TMP mod so we can get used to the stock game at some point... Whereabouts in CH do you have a setup? I'm from CH (currently in South Euclid), grew up 2 blocks from the CH main library :)

Sounds like we might be able to get a pretty huge game going some time. I'd be super stoked.

Hi all! I'm part of Mark's "crew" and also his brother-in-law. My wife and I have a nice little house in South Euclid where we are happy to host games. Although we don't have a permanent bridge, our living room is very accommodating for setting one up, mostly thanks to our wall-mounted 42" LCD TV. We also have plenty of temporary seating and tables.

As Mark noted, we've only played with the TNG mod as a group, but I for one would be up for trying it with stock ships...although they aren't as awesome. :)

I'm at the corner of Fairmount and Coventry. Permanent bridge is on the third floor.

Very cool. I actually grew up at the corner of Scarborough and Stratford. Well, that settles it. We're just going to have to set a game up sometime. :-)

Hey Mark, I just sent you a F-Book friend request (I think). Tonight I had half the population of Scarborough using my telescope to watch the Venus transit!

I have a crew in Medina County (Brunswick, Medina, Wadsworth). and have played at Mike's place (the 3 ship battle). He has an awesome setup.

Let me know of any weekend meet up's and I'll see what I can do to get the crew of the "Jimi-Saru" together.

Awesome! Man, sounds like there's quite a few folks in the area. Artemis can support up to 6 ships at once? Has anyone ever tried it?

Mike, Artemis 1701 could offer a ship if there's a spot available. My Skype is chas5511 if you want to holler at me. Not sure if you want an exclusive group event or not, good luck either way.

It doesn't look good for tomorrow night. I'm afraid it's cancelled.

Well, I guess that saves me the trouble of declining for tomorrow :-) let us know when you're thinking of doing it again!
