Learn Artemis Mission Scripting at Notacon 2012

posted Dec 15, 2011 19:37:19 by Mike_Substelny
I just got word that I will be running an Artemis Mission Scripting workshop at Notacon 9 (click here) in April.

This workshop assumes participants know nothing about Artemis, so it will start with an hour or so of basic play, followed by an hour or so learning the mission scripting XML and techniques of interactive storytelling.

Then participants will spend the rest of the day creating a top-quality mission script. We will develop a story, write code, build 3-D models, and record voices and sound effects. At the end of the day we will publish our mission for the rest of the world to play.

I do not yet have a timeslot, but because this is a fairly lengthy workshop I assume they will give me Friday or Saturday. I'm kind of hoping for Friday the 13th, since that would give Artemis crews around the world all weekend to play our adventure.

"Damn the torpedoes! Four bells, Captain Drayton!"

(Likely actual words of Admiral David Farragut, USN, at the battle of Mobile Bay. Four bells was the signal for the engine room to make full steam ahead).
