Cracked Universe

posted Nov 15, 2011 17:58:50 by Martok42
A temporal rift has opened in the sector, and Artemis must investigate. But the rift is just the start of Artemis's problems...

This is for Stock Artemis, and it adds another ship so you may want to back up your vesseldata, but if you dont it shouldn't harm anything.

Also, I ask that no one post potential spoilers, because this mission has quite a lot that could be spoiled for it.

Download Stock Artemis:

Download FED ItB version:
http://www.gamefront.com/files/20996309/Cracked+Universe+FED.zip
Unzip that and just put the dat file in your main Artemis folder and click yes when it asks if you want to merge the folders and want to replace the vesseldata. (and again, doing this will not effect your normal game)

Enjoy! And be sure to post feedback.

A vital mission, impossible odds and a ruthless enemy, what more could we ask for?

Great stuff - sounds exciting. And I take it this won't mess up the mods either?

No it will not, in fact I designed originally for the ItB mod, but I decided greater accessibility was better. All it does is add a few lines of Data to the Stock vesseldata, and put the skin and model in the dat folder. All mods and stock game will be operate just like before.

Does it work in ItB?

Well, I mean, it would in the sense that it would function, but it wouldn't say "Klingons" and "federation" and "Romulans" and stuff like that. It would say 'Kralians' 'Skaraans' etc. Also the ships wouldn't exactly match up like they are supposed to. But I still have my fed version if you want me to put that up too.

Well, don't get me wrong, it's great to you're making it for stock Artemis but personally I'd fancy an ItB version.

Can do, I will put the Federation version up along with stock version momentarily. In fact, I was thinking about doing versions for Klingons And Romulans also, but those would require a bit more than just ship and name replacement, but still an option...

In any case, Fed ItB version, is up!

This mission is fantastic, we played it last weekend. There is one particular point that is a great piece of coding, VERY tense, and just a perfect moment of coolness. You'll know it when you see it.

Martok, me and my bud futilchas tried playing it last night and could only get part of the fed version to work. What I mean by that is we would get to the part where the unknown ship would enter our sector of space, but then nothing.

No communications, no other events, just nothing. We've tried not destroying any enemy ships, we've tried destroying all enemy ships, we've tried flying thru the you know what (bad idea by the way, but still amusing!), heck, I've even tried sending the unknown ship back thru but nothing seems to work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. By the way, keep up the phenomenal work. You too Vorus, I know you're reading this. ;P

Yeah, I was wondering how self evident that part of the mission would be. You have to approach the ship, Like at a distance of less than 500 I think. So get right up next to it. If that doesn't work, then I have somehow messed up the script.
